Join the Repair Café!

All Repair Cafés need handy volunteers to act as repair experts during the repair meetings. We are especially looking for people who can help repair:

clothing/textiles
electrical items like lamps, clocks, fans, etc
small kitchen appliances
electronics
wood furniture/wooden objects
knife sharpening
bicycles (April and July events only)
small engines such as lawnmowers, chainsaws, leaf blowers, etc. (April and July events only)

…and who like to share their skills and help neighbours.

Apart from these experts, Repair Cafés need volunteers who can act as host or hostess. In this role, you may offer visitors coffee or tea, you will help visitors to register at the reception table, you may help triage items that are brought in and direct people to the appropriate repair station, and act as a contact for both the repair experts and the visitors in the Repair Café. We also need volunteers who can help set up and tear down the event, be a “Go For”, and help facilitate activities that will make the event memorable for everyone.

Note: All Repair Cafe-Crowsnest Pass volunteers must attend an orientation and event procedures information session about two weeks prior to the event for which you are volunteering.
